Ingredients

🥦 2 pounds Brussels sprouts (washed, trimmed, and halved)
🫒 1/4 cup olive oil
🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt
🧈 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
🧄 4 cloves garlic, minced
🌶 2 tablespoons Calabrian chili pepper (I used Trader Joe’s)
🌶 1 teaspoon paprika
🍯 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

1- Preheat the Oven:

  • Set your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Place an empty baking sheet inside as it preheats.

2- Prepare the Brussels Sprouts:

  • In a bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil and salt.
  • Toss them well to ensure they're evenly coated.

3- Roast the Brussels Sprouts:

  • Carefully remove the hot baking sheet from the oven and place the Brussels sprouts flat side down.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for 25-30 minutes until they are crispy.

4- Prepare the Glaze:

  • While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, heat a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Melt the butter and add the minced garlic and Calabrian chili peppers.
  • Sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Add in the paprika, stir, and then mix in the honey.
  • Let the glaze cook for 1-2 minutes, until it slightly thickens.

5- Glaze the Sprouts:

  • Once the Brussels sprouts are roasted, remove them from the oven and spoon the glaze over them.
  • Toss gently to ensure all the sprouts are well-coated with the glaze.

6- Serve:

  • Serve immediately and enjoy the perfect blend of crispy, sweet, and spicy flavors.
