π§ 1/2 teaspoon salt
π 4 cups flour
π§ 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
π§ 2 sticks of softened unsalted butter
π― 1 cup brown sugar
π° 3 tablespoons cinnamon
For the Cream Cheese Icing:
π§ 1 stick unsalted butter (room temperature)
π§ 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
π 2 cups powdered sugar
π¦ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
π₯ 2 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
1- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, yeast, salt, and egg. Stir well to mix.
- Add the flour and melted butter to the mixture. Using a mixer, mix for 3-4 minutes until a dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest for 1 hour, allowing it to double in size.
2- Prepare the Filling:
- In a separate bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until evenly combined.
3- Assemble the Cinnamon Rolls:
- Once the dough has rested, roll it out on a floured surface. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle with additional flour.
- Evenly spread the cinnamon filling over the rolled-out dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, then cut it into individual rolls. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the tray with plastic wrap and let the rolls rest for another 30 minutes.
4- Bake the Rolls:
- Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
5- Prepare the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- In a mixing bowl, whip together the butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for about a minute.
- Add the heavy cream and mix again until the frosting is creamy and smooth.
6- Finish & Serve:
- Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool for about 10 minutes once out of the oven.
- Generously spread the cream cheese frosting over the slightly warm rolls.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the rich, comforting flavors.
