Ingredients
๐ 4 pounds of lamb, boneless leg, trimmed and cubed
๐ง 1 tablespoon salt
๐ฟ 1/2 teaspoon cumin
๐ถ๏ธ 1/2 tablespoon paprika
๐ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
๐ง 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
๐ง
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
๐ซ 1 tablespoon olive oil
๐ The juice of half a lemon (use a whole lemon if small)
Instructions
1- Prepare the Lamb:
- Begin by trimming the fat from the boneless leg of lamb and cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- Rinse the lamb cubes under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel to ensure they are free from excess moisture.
2- Marinate the Lamb:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the salt, cumin, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil, and lemon juice.
- Mix thoroughly to form a marinade.
- Add the lamb cubes to the bowl, ensuring each piece is well-coated with the spice mixture.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours. For best results, marinate overnight.
3- Prepare the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- If using wooden skewers, be sure to soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill.
4- Assemble the Skewers:
- Thread the marinated lamb pieces onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece to ensure even cooking.
5- Grill the Lamb Tikka:
- Place the skewers on the preheated grill.
- Cook the lamb for about 6 to 7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred on the edges.
6- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once done, remove the skewers from the grill.
- Allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Enjoy your Lamb Tikka with a side of fresh salad or naan bread.
