These Tender Shredded Beef Tacos are a guaranteed hit at every gathering. Ingredients
🥩 3.5 pounds beef round top round steak
🫒 3 tablespoons oil
🧅 1 large onion
🧄 4 cloves garlic
🍅 1 10oz can of diced tomatoes with green chilies
🌶️ 1/2 7oz can of chipotle peppers with adobo sauce (use the full can for extra spice)
🌿 1 tablespoon cumin
🌿 1 tablespoon oregano
🧂 1 tablespoon salt
🌶️ 1 packet Sazón
🌶️ 1 teaspoon black pepper
🫗 2 cups beef broth
🌿 2 bay leaves
🍋 Juice of 1 lime

🌮 Tortillas
🧅 Chopped onion
🌿 Cilantro
🍅 Pico de gallo
🍋 Lime slices
Instructions
1- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
2- Sear Beef:
- Heat a pan or Dutch oven over high heat and add the oil.
- Sear the beef on all sides to lock in the flavors.
- Once browned, remove the beef and set it aside. Repeat if necessary until all beef is seared.
3- Sauté Aromatics:
- In the same pan, add the diced onion and garlic.
- Sauté for a couple of minutes until the onions become translucent.
4- Add Tomatoes and Peppers:
- Add in the diced tomatoes with green chilies and chipotle peppers along with the adobo sauce.
- Adjust the peppers to your spice preference.
- Crush the chipotle peppers with your hand or a spoon to mix well.
5- Season:
- Season the mixture with cumin, oregano, salt, Sazón, and black pepper.
- Stir well to combine the spices.
6- Combine and Add Broth:
- Return the seared beef to the pot and pour the beef broth over it.
- Add the bay leaves on top.
7- Prepare for Baking:
- Wet a piece of parchment paper, squeeze out excess water, and place it over the meat to retain moisture.
- Then cover the pot with a lid.
8- Bake:
- Place the pot in the preheated oven and bake for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
9- Shred and Serve:
- After baking, add lime juice over the cooked beef and start shredding it using two forks.
- Serve the shredded beef on warm tortillas with chopped onion, cilantro, pico de gallo, and lime slices on the side. Enjoy your homemade tacos!
