Ingredients

🐔 1 pound ground chicken
🍄 8 oz package of mushrooms, chopped
🧅 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
🧄 2 cloves of garlic, minced
🫚 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
🥢 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
🍶 3 tablespoons soy sauce
🌶️ 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
🍶 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
🌰 1 tablespoon sesame oil
🛢️ 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
🥬 Butter lettuce leaves (or any lettuce of choice)
🌾 Rice noodles (for garnish)
🧅 Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
🥕 Shredded carrots (optional, for garnish)
🍈 Purple cabbage, shredded (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

1- Cooking the Chicken:

  • Place a skillet on high heat and add sesame oil. Allow the oil to get hot.
  • Add the ground chicken to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until all liquid evaporates and the chicken begins to brown.

2- Adding Vegetables:

  • Stir in chopped mushrooms and additional vegetable oil. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Add onion, minced garlic, and ginger. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are soft.

3- Adding Sauces:

  • Incorporate rice vinegar, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, and hoisin sauce. Mix well and let simmer for about 1 minute.
  • Remove the chicken mixture from heat.

4- Preparing Rice Noodles:

  • Heat oil in a pan until very hot. Add the rice noodles in small portions and fry just until they puff up.
  • Quickly remove and drain on paper towels.

5- Assembling Wraps:

  • Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture into each lettuce leaf.
  • Top with crispy rice noodles, green onions, shredded carrots, and purple cabbage if desired.
