Instructions

1- Prepare the Brine:

  • In a pot, combine the water, vinegar, sugar, and kosher salt.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and let it continue boiling for about five minutes.

2- Prepare the Cucumbers:

  • Wash the medium cucumbers and cut them into rounds.
  • Use a crinkle cutter for a decorative touch or a regular knife.

3- Prepare Other Ingredients:

  • Peel the garlic cloves.
  • If using, slice the jalapeño into rounds.

4- Assemble the Pickles in Jars:

  • Divide the cucumbers, garlic cloves, dill sprigs, and jalapeño slices between two wide-mouth mason jars.

5- Add Peppercorns and Brine:

  • Sprinkle peppercorns over the cucumbers in the jars.
  • Carefully pour the hot brine over the cucumbers and other ingredients.

6- Seal and Refrigerate:

  • Seal the jars with lids and place them in the refrigerator.
