Bursting with exotic flavors, this dish is a perfect fusion of textures and tastes, offering a satisfying culinary experience that will please both family and friends.

Ingredients

For the Rice:
🌾 4 cups Jasmine rice
💧 6 cups water
🌿 1/2 tablespoon turmeric
🧂 Salt to taste

For the Beef Patties Filling:
🥩 500g ground beef
🧅 4 onions, finely chopped
🌿 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
🥄 1 teaspoon allspice
🌶️ 1 teaspoon black pepper
🔥 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
🍛 1 tablespoon curry powder
🧂 Chicken bouillon, to taste
🧂 Salt to taste
🥚 2 eggs

Instructions

1- Prepare the Rice:

  • Rinse the jasmine rice under running water to remove excess starch.
  • In a large pot, combine the rice and water. Add turmeric and salt to taste. Stir well.
  • Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it cook for about 15 minutes or until the water is fully evaporated and the rice is tender.
  • Once cooked, transfer the rice to a large dish and spread it out to cool completely.

2- Prepare the Beef Filling:

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over high heat, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned.
  • Add finely chopped onions and continue cooking until they soften. Season with allspice, black pepper, cayenne pepper, curry powder, bouillon, and salt to taste.
  • Stir in chopped parsley and cook for an additional minute before removing from heat. Spread onto a flat dish and allow to cool.

3- Prepare the Rice Patties:

  • Once the rice is cool, mix in two eggs. Use your hands to combine until the mixture is sticky and can hold its shape.
  • Wet your hands in warm water to prevent sticking. Form the rice mixture into 1.5-inch balls and flatten them slightly.
  • Create a small well in the center of each rice ball, fill with about a tablespoon of the beef mixture, and close to seal. Shape into oblong patties.

4- Fry the Patties:

  • Heat a sufficient amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Carefully add the patties and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  • Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels before serving.
