Ingredients
For the Beef:
🐄 2 pounds beef, cut into bite-size pieces
🧂 1 teaspoon 7 spice
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🛢️ 1 tablespoon oil
💧 1 cup warm water
For the Fried Ingredients:
🥔 4 potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
🌰 1 cup peeled almonds
🍇 1 cup raisins
🌿 1 cup peas
For the Rice:
🍚 2 cups basmati rice
🛢️ 1/4 cup oil
🍝 1/2 cup vermicelli
🌿 1 cinnamon stick
🌿 4 cardamom pods
🧂 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon
🧂 1 tablespoon 7 spice
🧂 1 teaspoon turmeric
🧂 1 tablespoon salt
💧 3 cups hot water
Instructions
1- Prepare the Beef:
- Add the beef to a pot and cook on high heat for 15 minutes.
- Add 7 spice, salt, oil, and warm water. Cover, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for 40 minutes until the beef is tender. Set aside.
2- Fry the Ingredients:
- Fry the potatoes until golden brown and set aside.
- Lightly fry the almonds until golden.
- Briefly fry the raisins for about 10 seconds until they puff up.
- Fry the peas for about 20 seconds and set aside.
3- Cook the Rice:
- Wash the basmati rice until water runs clear and soak it in warm water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pot and add the vermicelli, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods. Fry until the vermicelli turns brown.
- Drain the rice and add it to the pot. Add salt, 7 spice, turmeric, chicken bouillon, and hot water. Mix well.
- Cover and cook the rice on high until water evaporates, then reduce heat to low and cook for another 20 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick.
4- Combine and Serve:
- Mix the cooked beef, fried potatoes, almonds, raisins, and peas into the cooked rice.
