Ingredients

🍞 25 to 30 frozen dinner rolls
🥑 Avocado cooking spray
🥩 1 pound of ground beef
🧅 1 medium size onion (finely diced)
🍅 1 medium size tomato (finely diced)
🧄 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
🌿 1/2 cup of parsley (finely chopped)
🧂 1 tablespoon salt (or to taste)
🌶️ 1 teaspoon paprika
⚫ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
🌿 1/2 teaspoon cumin
🌿 1/2 teaspoon coriander
🍯 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
🍅 1 6oz can tomato paste
🥚 1 egg (to brush the sides of the dough with)


Instructions

1- Thaw the Dough:

  • Arrange the frozen dinner rolls on a large plate, ensuring they do not touch.
  • Spray a light coating of avocado cooking spray over the rolls.
  • Cover with plastic wrap, followed by a kitchen towel, and let them thaw for about 2 hours, or until they double in size.

2- Prepare the Meat Filling:

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely diced onion, tomato, minced garlic, parsley, salt, paprika, black pepper, red pepper flakes, cumin, coriander, pomegranate molasses, and tomato paste.
  • Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined. Set the filling aside.

3- Preheat and Assemble Pies:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out each thawed dough piece into an oval shape.
  • Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the meat filling onto the center of each rolled dough and spread evenly.
  • Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch or twist the ends to form a boat shape.

4- Egg Wash and Bake:

  • Lightly beat the egg and brush it over the outer dough of each pie.
  • Place the assembled pies onto a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

5- Serve and Enjoy:

  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
