Ingredients
🍞 30 to 35 Rhodes dinner rolls
🥩 1 pound ground beef
🧅 1 onion, chopped
🧄 3 cloves of garlic, minced
🌶️ 1 large bell pepper or a bunch of small ones, chopped
🌿 Fresh parsley, chopped
🍅 1 tomato, chopped
🧂 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon
🌶️ 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
⚫ 1 teaspoon black pepper
🌿 1 teaspoon cumin
🌿 1/2 teaspoon allspice
🍅 2 tablespoons tomato paste
🧴 Cooking spray for greasing
Instructions
1- Prepare the Dough:
- Place the frozen dinner rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spaced 2 to 3 inches apart.
- Lightly spray the rolls with cooking spray and cover with plastic wrap.
- Allow rolls to thaw completely for about 20 minutes in a warm location, like outside if it's hot, or in a warm room.
2- Prepare the Meat Filling:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, using the natural fat from the meat for cooking.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, bell pepper, and tomato to the skillet with the beef.
- Stir in the chicken bouillon, smoked paprika, black pepper, cumin, and allspice, mixing well.
- Cook the mixture until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste and chopped parsley until well combined.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool.
3- Assemble the Pies:
- Once the dinner rolls are thawed, use the bottom of a cup to press down each roll to create a flat surface.
- Spoon the cooled meat filling onto each flattened roll.
4- Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the assembled meat pies in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the rolls are golden and fully cooked.
5- Serve:
- Allow the pies to cool slightly before serving.
- Enjoy these as an appetizer or a main dish alongside a fresh salad.
