Ingredients

🥩 2.5 pounds beef round steak

🌽 1 cup corn starch

🥢 3 tablespoons soy sauce

🫒 2 tablespoons olive oil (for drizzling on the beef before air frying)

🫒 3 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)

🌿 1 tablespoon minced ginger

🧄 4 cloves minced garlic

🧅 6 green onions

🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes

For the Sauce:

🍗 1 cup chicken broth

🍯 1/2 cup brown sugar

🥢 1/2 cup soy sauce

🍚 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

🌰 1 teaspoon sesame oil

🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt

⚫ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

🌽 1 teaspoon corn starch

Instructions

1- Prepare the Beef:

  • Cut the beef round steak into thin, bite-sized slices.

  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 cup of corn starch and 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. Let it marinate for 10 minutes to enhance the flavors.

2- Prepare Aromatics:

  • Thinly slice the green onions. Mince the ginger and garlic, then set aside.

3- Make the Sauce:

  • In a bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and corn starch until well combined.

4- Air Fry the Beef:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  • Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over each batch of beef and air fry in two separate batches for 10 minutes each, or until the beef is crispy and cooked through.

5- Cook the Aromatics:

  • In a nonstick pan or wok, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.

  • Add the minced garlic, ginger, and sliced green onions, along with the chili flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

6- Combine and Serve:

  • Pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the aromatics and stir well. Cook for about 3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.

  • Add the air-fried beef into the pan. Toss everything together to ensure the beef is evenly coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional minute.

  • Serve the Mongolian Beef over a bed of steamed white rice or your choice of grains. Enjoy!
