Ingredients
🍖 500g shaved steak or steak meat
🥚 1 egg (for sealing)
🥫 2 packets of egg roll wrappers
🧅 1 large onion, chopped
🫑 1 red bell pepper, chopped
🫑 1 green bell pepper, chopped
🧀 Provolone cheese slices
🌶️ 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
🧄 1 tablespoon garlic powder
🧂 1 tablespoon salt, or to taste
⚫ 1 teaspoon black pepper
🛢️ 2 tablespoons oil for sautéing
Instructions
1- Prepare the Steak:
- Heat a skillet over high heat and add the shaved steak. Cook until browned and no pink remains. Remove from the pan and set aside.
2- Sauté the Vegetables:
- In the same skillet, add the oil and heat over medium-high. Add the chopped onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they begin to caramelize.
3- Combine Ingredients:
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the veggies. Season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook everything together for an additional 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool completely.
4- Assemble the Egg Rolls:
- Lay an egg roll wrapper flat and place a slice of provolone cheese in the center. Spoon some of the steak mixture on top of the cheese. Fold in the sides and roll the wrapper tightly. Use a little beaten egg to seal the edges.
5- Fry the Egg Rolls:
- In a pot, heat oil over medium heat. Fry the egg rolls until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Ensure oil temperature is on medium to prevent burning.
6- Serve:
- Drain the egg rolls on a paper towel and serve warm. Enjoy your cheesy, savory creation!
