Ingredients
For the Chicken:
🐔 6 boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch strips
🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt
🧄 1 teaspoon garlic powder
🌶 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
🌶 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
🌽 1 tablespoon corn starch
🍶 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
🛢 2 tablespoons oil (for frying)
For the Sauce:
🍗 1 cup chicken broth
🥢 1/2 cup soy sauce
🍯 1/3 cup brown sugar
🍯 1 tablespoon honey
🧄 1 teaspoon garlic paste
🌿 1 teaspoon ginger paste
🍚 1/2 teaspoon rice vinegar
🌾 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
🌽 1 tablespoon corn starch
Instructions
1- Marinate the Chicken:
- In a large bowl, mix together the chicken strips, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, chili flakes, corn starch, and teriyaki sauce.
- Ensure all the chicken pieces are well coated, then let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or longer for deeper flavor.
2- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a medium bowl, combine chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic paste, ginger paste, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and corn starch.
- Mix well until the corn starch is fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth. Set aside.
3- Cook the Chicken Skewers:
- Thread the marinated chicken strips onto skewers.
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken skewers.
- Cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, then remove from the skillet.
4- Finish the Dish:
- Using the same skillet, pour in the prepared sauce. Scrape any bits off the bottom to mix with the sauce.
- Return the chicken skewers to the skillet, cover, and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
5- Serve:
- Serve the chicken skewers over a bed of white rice and garnish with sliced scallions for a pop of color and fresh taste.
