Ingredients
🥔 1 (28oz) bag hash browns mixed with onions and peppers
🥕 1 (12oz) bag of frozen peas and carrots
🌮 1 package of uncooked flour tortillas
🧂 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
🌿 1 teaspoon garam masala
🌶️ 1 teaspoon chili powder
🌶️ 1 teaspoon paprika
🧄 1 teaspoon garlic powder
🌿 1/2 teaspoon cumin
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
🌶️ 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
🫒 2 tablespoons olive oil
🫒 Oil for frying
Instructions
1- Prepare the Filling:
- In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the hash browns mixed with onions and peppers to the skillet.
- Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the hash browns become slightly golden and tender.
- Add the frozen peas and carrots to the skillet and stir well.
- Season the mixture with seasoned salt, garam masala, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, black pepper, and chili flakes.
- Mix everything together until the vegetables are well-coated with the spices.
- Cook for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring the vegetables are heated through.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool down.
2- Assemble the Samosas:
- Take the uncooked flour tortillas and cut each one in half.
- To form a cone, apply a bit of water with your fingertip on the straight edge of the half tortilla.
- Bring the edges together to form a cone shape and pinch the bottom and sides to seal.
- Fill the cone with the cooled filling mixture.
- Apply a bit more water on the top edge and pinch it closed to seal the samosa.
3- Fry the Samosas:
- In a deep pan, heat enough oil for frying over medium heat.
- Carefully add the filled samosas to the hot oil.
- Fry them until they turn golden brown on all sides.
- Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
